The Art Of Deconstruction

HEIKE SCHUPPELIUS

19:00

Heike Schuppelius will be focusing on the tearing down process as an artistic strategy. Her research examines, in contrary to construction and creation of spaces and objects, their demolition. Working closely with engineers and demolition specialists, a workshop with students was held, developing one to one scale models of such a procedure with the use of various devices. Part of the result was shown as performance / installation on the balcony of the main art hall in Mannheim, DE, which has been recently tore down. Furthermore the „Script of demolition“, a book about the archive and work of the demolition specialists was recently published.
