Creating interactive and navigable forms of audiovisual compositions

This lecture is about the issue concerning the positioning of sonic and visual compositions in natural, hybrid or virtual space. The creation of sonar and visual compositions, placed in natural or digital space, that remain open to the conformation of the experience and the content by the spectators, through interaction, refers to the relationship between sonic and architectural synthesis. An important aspect of it, is the designing of the interactive dimension of the experience, taking place in these environments, and how this dimension includes more parameters and levels of consideration than those usually taken into account in architectural design or sonic composition. The talk will introduce the theoretical background and the rationale that conditions them, and will present and discuss examples of artworks reclaiming virtual environments technologies, ubiquitous computing (ubicomp), sonic positioning and large scale projections aiming at the creation of interactive sonic and visual environments.
